British cyclist Alan Bate is attempting to shatter the world record for cycling around the globe. Currently in Texas, Bate has cycled more than 10,000 kilometers in 43 days (his goal is to complete the circumnavigation in 99 days, shaving 66 days off the current world record). According to his
blog, the U.S. portion of the trek finds Bate “totally unsupported” for the first time, meaning he has no support team to travel with, help with logistics, and cheer him on. Hey, we can be as supportive as the next country! Check out his
route map and contact friends along his route to show him some good ol’ American hospitality—the poor guy’s exhausted. It’s amazing what a little clapping and cheering does for morale.
